Hand made Heriz Carpets, Rugs and Runners

The Heriz area rugs are widely searched among avid collectors. Take advantage of our inexpensive prices to start your own collection. The district of Heriz is located northeast of Tabriz in the eastern area of Iran. Many of the finer Heriz carpets come from town workshops, while the outlying villages make coarser tribal rugs.
A well-known trait is the large medallion, which is in the middle of the rugs. Usually it is an octagonal ornament surrounded by floral geometric designs. The strong colors include, red, green, beige and dark navy. While the middle has a large medallion, the borders are woven with floral splendors giving the carpets a lot of movement and a stunning manifestation. The knot count differs widely within the Heriz area rugs, since they are thickly knotted in a symmetrical (Turkish) fashion. Thanks to the high concentration of copper on Mount Sabalan and within the sheep′s drinking water, their wool becomes extremely durable and regarded as top-notch quality.
All our Heriz rugs come straight from the source. Some of the neighboring towns that also produce Heriz rugs are Sarab, Bakhshaish, Ahar and Gorevan. The soft wool gives them such a fabulous and delicate touch, while being robust. Our Heriz rugs come in different sizes, from small, medium and large and even in runners.
